This pet hair magnet has a rubber blade that indeed seems to be a magnet for cat hair! I bought it to clean cat hair off of those several spots on the furniture that my kitty favors (couch, armchairs), and I couldn't believe how well it worked. Not only it draws cat hair, it also picks up dust. The manufacturer says that this magnet will pick up even old, embedded hair that vacuum cleaners cannot get to; I was a bit skeptical about that, but the magnet lived up to the promise. Several swipes, and my furniture looks like new. I am no longer worried about my cat picking a new favorite spot and leaving hair on it - cleaning it off is no longer an issue.

I used this magnet on carpets and car seats as well, with the same good results. The only item I still prefer lint rollers for is clothes, although the magnet works on clothes as well.
