PetSafe Little Dog Remote Trainer

The Petsafe Remote trainer for little dogs uses a 9 volt battery in the remote and 2- 3 volt batteries in the collar.The first thing I will say is that the 3 volt batteries do not last long in the collar.You should definately make sure the collar is turned off when not in use, and even then the batteries do lose power over time.That is the only drawback to the system.The remote has 10 levels of correction with a 100 yard range.The receiver on the collar is waterproof.The remote works by giving a slight charge, similar to a poke from a battery, while at the same time sounding a beep, so that the dog associates the poke with the beep.We set the remote on a very low level and only used it one time on our dog and after that, the button that only gives the beep sound was the only thing necessary in the training from then on.We have used it a couple of times after almost a year of not using it, and our dog still recognizes the beep. I would highly recommend this training system.
