Phase 10 is a lot of fun to play! When I was younger, my siblings, parents, and I used to play this game all of the time. I cannot wait until my children are old enough to play with my husband and me. After dealing out the cards, you have to complete each phase before moving onto the next one. The first person to complete all ten phases in order is the winner. I can remember playing this and being stuck on the first or second phase forever! Everyone would laugh, but then I would quickly catch up as the others got stuck on a different phase. My favorite phase is 1 run of 9 which means you have to have 9 cards in number order - this is a hard one! This game is a Rummy-type card game geared for ages 8 and up. Two to six players can play, but four or more is ideal. One nice feature of this card game is that if you want to make a game shorter, you can choose to complete all of the odd numbered phases and so forth. You will have fun and it is easy to play as long as you are dealt a good hand!

I love this game too! It sure can get frustrating when you get stuck on a phase, but in this game...anything can happen.

Sounds interesting. I would like more info about whether it would be a good game for a family with one learning disabled person who cannot hope to do well at word games.

Sharkbytes - not sure about that. This game gives you number patterns that you have to complete before moving on to the next. You could pair that individual with someone else or have everyone play in pairs - it would be fun!
