Philips Dvd Player By ShaneForYou on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This DVD player is pretty basic. It is very easy to use, and has most of the standard effects and such of a common DVD player nowadays - high definition picture, Dolby surround sound capability, etc. So far, it has served well. I have had no technical difficulties with it whatsoever, no troubles with understanding how to use it - even hooking it up to the rest of my entertainment system was a (surprisingly) easy task with this player.

I'm enjoying it quite a bit, and I would most definitely say that it is a smart investment. I see DVDs in quality as good as I could possibly get without buying a bluray player (which wouldn't all my normal DVDs, hence the reason I didn't choose to buy that instead). It plays sound as well as any other Philips DVD player made in the past year or two, which is quite good, in my opinion. I do not have particularly strong opinions about whether it is an exceptionally good player, or just a good one, but as far as I'm concerned, it was a good investment.
