Philips plasma 42" HDTV is a good brand if you're not looking for something sophisticated or really technical. It is an average HDTV that can be very useful for the home for regular family viewing. I like the fact that it's an HDTV because channels that are HD look totally great, can't complain about that. I am not too pleased with the picture because at times it doesn't seem too crystal clear to me which is why I thought the brand "philips" would give me. I am disappointed with this t.v. somewhat because it seems as if it's dieing. What I mean is that when I turn it on it takes quite a few seconds to turn on and when I change or switch the channels it's just slow. I think the price is not worth it. This t.v. should cost much less because it's not all that. What's great about it is the size and it sounds great with surround sound.

We just bought this last night and we only paid $808.00 at Sam's Club. We LOVE it! It is VERY easy to operate!
Philips is one of my first choice in the line of television. Your experiences with this HDTV is good and there are every chances that I would give a high preferance for this brand and specifically the product while going for my new TV set.
