This is a great remote. When I live in one place, it will probably become the only remote we use at home. It's been compatible with every TV and DVD player that I've tried it on. When I use NEW batteries in it, the signal strength is excellent. I received it as a gift probably 3 or 4 years ago from my friend, and it's still holding up perfectly. I like the size of it, as it's not heavy or bulky, but rather light and slim. It includes all the funtions that any other TV remote would have, like closed caption, PIP, etc. I have yet to use them, but they are there. I think it's very strong and durable, as I've had it for quite a while and it still looks great and works great. Whenever a TV remote became lost or the back battery cover had mysteriously disappeared, this remote seriously always came to the rescue. I thought that synchronizing the codes was super easy and quick, and the manual includes a pull out paper listing the codes for all the appliances that are compatible with the remote. Definitely try this one if you are looking for a good universal remote control.
