If you like a heavy dark line on expensive wide-ruled paper, this pen is for you. For me personally, I found the line to be a bit too dark, more like writing with a marker than a pen. Still, the ink flow is smooth with none of the skipping or sticking of some other brands of pens. The line is dark and precise. I'd probably like it better in place of a fine-line marker for use on a poster board or to write a letter on fine paper. It doesn't do well on all types of paper though. The wide line is made by a lot of ink flow and on some types of paper, all of this ink wicks out leaving a blurred line. If the paper is in the least bit shiny or coated (like printer paper) this ink takes forever to dry if it will dry at all. This can create a smeary mess when you happen to brush your hand against a previously written line and I've also had it come off on a piece of paper stacked on top of it. I would recommend this pen only for formal uses where the beauty of its dark line can be appreciated and not for everyday writing where it can cause a mess.
