Pink Flame Bulb By Sparkle333 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I believe that lighting really sets the mood in a home, and therefore, I have many accent lamps scattered throughout our house. Recently I discovered these silicone dipped bulbs in a lovely pink color. They are 5 Watt bulbs, that come in a package of 2. Quite frequently you will see these bulbs in country candle type lamps.

But I am using them in a slightly different way. Remember those old fashioned Christmas Candelabras that can still be purchased in some stores? I've been painting them pink, and decoupaging roses on them. Then I use one of these silicone dipped flame bulbs, and it is really attractive. The bulbs provide a very soft, pink glow, and unlike the Christmas lights, you can burn these year round! Another thing I often do with them is to put them in a single electric candle holder, (generally painted pink) and perhaps put a candle ring around the candlestick.

It's just my opinion, but I sometimes think the flame tip is a little too long and wild looking, so I just cut it at a slight angle, to make it look a little more normal, and the bulb has always worked without any problem. You may like the wild, unruly look, and choose to leave the flame tip that way.

These bulbs are also available in other colors, but I think A. C. Moore only carries them in white and pink. The white ones are a little too bright for me.

I also purchased some teal ones, when I was in the North Carolina mountains, to go in a teal hand painted electric candelabra that I ordered on Ebay. These are lovely light bulbs, and there are so many ways that you can use them.
