Pixies-Surfer Rosa

The Pixies are arguably one of the most influential bands of the last 30 years.In 1988 they released their masterpiece Surfer Rosa.The album was released on the label 4AD and was produced by Steve Albini.

From start to finish, this is simply one of the best albums of all time in my opinion.Anyone who is a fan of what eventually became knows as alternative rock, needs to listen to this album to hear its source.

The album has 14 songs and features some semi-popular tracks like Where is My Mind? and Gigantic.My personal favorite song ont he album is River Euprates.

The album is loud, raunchy and raw.Vocals tear through the screaming guitars and screaming prevails with melodies of background vocals in the back.The Pixies are known as beginning a pseudo style of loud-soft-loud song composition and this is evident throughout the album.

I beleive this album deserves a spot in every rock music fans collection.It is a classic in every sense of the word and should be hailed as one of the best albums of all time.
