As San Antonio residents, we have tried many different establishments, Crumpets Restaurant and Bakery has always been one of our favorites. Naturally, when it came time to get a wedding cake, Crumpets was where we went.
For the cake tasting appointment, we were offered a variety of samples. Each was delectable. The wedding consultant was knowledgeable and very helpful in getting us to narrow down our selections. You are given samples and from those samples, you can make your wedding cake as custom or traditional as you like.
On the big day, the wedding cake was delivered and staged exactly as planned. The cake was almost too beautiful to eat. It was adorned with fresh flowers, which matched the colors we had chosen for the wedding.
The cake flavor we chose was poppy seed with Grand Marnier filling and butter cream icing. It was perfect! The cake was moist and the icing was not overpowering or overly sweet. Since we chose Grand Marnier, an orange flavored liqueur, the filling was like a creamy light orange flavored pudding, yet had a thicker consistency. Every morsel of that cake was eaten, some returned for seconds.
From beginning to end, our experience with Crumpets Restaurant and Bakery was top notch.
