Play Doh Birthday Set By Maryelser By maryelser on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

My kids love Play-Doh and really, I don't know a kid who doesn't. I know plenty of parents however who won't let their children play with it (my mom being one of them!). We have linoleum in the kitchen and the living room, so we have no problem with them playing with Play-Doh.

We found the birthday set at Wal-Mart for $9.99. The set included a plastic cake ring, candle mold, molds to make different cake decorations, a cutter, a two sided scoop, plus some gift boxes, plates and little birthday cards. It also came with two small cups of Play-Doh and one regular size cup of Play-Doh.

I have to tell you, my kids have really enjoyed this product. Even our 15 year old would sit down and play with it with his sisters. Well, he always said he wasn't playing, just helping his younger sisters make things out of the Play-Doh because he felt sorry for them. Yeah right.

We bought another pack of Play-Doh to go with the birthday set so there would be enough to go around and maybe even last for more than a week (my kids sometimes lose the playdoh). Play-Doh is not hard to get off of tables or floors, although when it's left out in the open, it does tend to dry out. It is recommended for ages 3 years and up.

Your mom sounded like my mom-my mom wouldn't let me play with this either when I was a child but now that I have my own child, he gets all of the play doh that he wants!

My daughter loves play-doh! Great creative outlet for the little ones. Shame on your mom!

Play-doh makes the funnest play sets, and this one sounds so cool. My daughter's favorite when she was youngr was the dentist set, but I bet she would have LOVED this one.

My mom wouldn't let me play with it until I was too old to want to. Overprotective? Yes, but of me, or the house? This sounds fun. And I still love play-doh! I often give it as gifts -- usually to kids whose moms don't want them to have it! I call it the Revenge of the Deprived Adult Child!

That sounds like me and my brother in law! He gives our kids loud toys and we give his playdoh and finger paints, lol!

I saw this on clearance at Target last week, maybe I'll check to see if it's still there - it sounds like fun!

Ahhh! The scent of a fresh can of Play Doh always brings back memories. I wish these type of sets had been available when I was a kid. Too bad I don't know any kids to "help" like your 15YO!

My Mom used to buy Play-doh in the 4 pack because there was 4 of us kids, and we each got one color in our Christmas stockings and had to "ask nice" and "share" if we wanted to have a little of anyone else's color. You never saw 4 siblings play so nicely and quietly together but for our Play-doh days.

My children just loved PlayDoh Mary. We must have had every set Playdoh made. Christmas wasn't complete in our home without at least a fresh set of PlayDoh to play with. My objections started when I discovered PlayDoh stuck to my carpets and stained vone area badly. Even professional steam cleaning couldn't quite get it out.
