This game console started as a gift for my husband, because at the time, our son was too young to care about video games. That has changed, as my son is now 5 and loves "his" Playstation 2. The entire system was very easy for him to learn how to use. The best feature is the wide variety of games available. They span all age groups and abilities. Some of my son's favorite games are the Star Wars series, any of the basketball and football games, and the racing games (NASCAR, etc). He enjoys playing these games with his dad, although we limit the amount of time he spends on them. I did purchase a fun firefighter game for my husband that he enjoys. The graphics and sound on this system are great and sometimes very realistic, depending on the game being played.

Less than a year after we purchased the console, it did stop working. It wouldn't turn on anymore. I contacted Sony, and they told us to send it in to them. They said they would replace it. This was just before the year warranty was up. They promptly (within a week or two) sent us a replacement. I was disappointed to see that this was a remanufactured unit, but they assured me that this is normal practice and that it should work properly. This was 3 years ago, and we have never had a problem with the replacement console. We have not seen any compelling reasons to upgrade to the Playstation 3 or any other gaming units at this time. We are pleased with what we have and the availability of the games.
