I would say hands down, this is the video game system which everyone should own, or does own. It is obviously the step above the PS1, and below the PS3. However the PS3 is still having some issues, and doesn't have as many games.

The price for the PS2 with the release of the PS3 has dropped, so you can easily afford it. The game list is incredible and vast, and can also take all PS1 games as well. You have many titles to choose from and you can also watch DVD's on this as well!

You also have the option of purchasing the unit which plugs into the back, which will allow you to play games online against many people.

It is also compatable with the PSP game system and you can "dock" it with the PS2. So that will expand your options greatly!

I highly recommend this unit as it is "tried and true"!
