Playtex Drop Ins Nurser

I remember seeing the Playtex Drop Ins a long time ago and have always heard of how great they were. I decided to purchase the newborn gift set to give them a try.

First, it was great that it had very few parts to wash. Only the nipple and ring needs to be washed often. But along with this, the downfall is the price of the drop ins. They are pretty pricy when you consider that you are supposed to only use each one once. I have found that using them 2 or 3 times is fine even though it is not recommended.

The kit comes with latex and silicone nipples but I found that the latex nipples were harder to use. It is also annoying to keep pushing the air out of the bottles. When you stop to burp the baby, air comes back into the bottle and it takes another few minutes to push it out of that small hole. If you push it out too fast the drop in breaks its seal and formula spills out. This makes for some fussy times with baby having to wait on the bottle.

Another thing I have found is that a lot of formula is wasted. It will look like the baby drank a lot but then once you open up the drop in, a lot of the formula is left because it was stuck inside.

These bottles do help a lot with gassiness but they are not as easy to use as I would have hoped. I would go with another bottle that does not require additional pieces and does not have a lot of wasted formula.
