I think this is the awsomest long distance offer ever!

PLDT for once offered unlimited long distance calls anywhere in the Philippines for only a little more than $1 as additional fee on top of the existing bill, which was around $14. So we get to pay almost $16 for a month. But that also means unlimited long distance calls. There is no duration with which to call, no call duration, no call limits within the day. As long as the call was made to another PLDT connection anywhere in the country, it was absolutely free.

Imagine the savings we had back then. We had relatives all over the country and calling them even for just 15 minutes each once a month cost us a lot of money. Like $20 or so just for the long distance calls. So just imagine our happiness.

I think the promo lasted for more several years but it was stopped eventually. I think the offer now is an additional $20 on top of the monthly bill for unlimited DSL internet access. Not bad either.

But I could not forget that time because there are other phone networks who offer the same but the reception quality is not good, the lines are always busy, and after several minutes, the call would be cut short. So the PLDT plan was the most cost effective plan.
