please be aware while buying CRT monitors

Hi friends.Happy to meet you all again with an interesting topic.I have own a desktop computer in my home.I have philips CRT monitor which looks big and gives more benefit while you are watching movies andpictures.Also it is the first one chip digital deflection for better display.It has lightframe in it for producing better sharpness and brightness while watching movies.It is also famous for is elegant appearance and lead free design.But for me real problem occured when the wintwr season comes.After a heavy rain fall the climate will change much cooler in my country(India)and most probably in my area.So that when i start the system monitor will not get switched on for first 15 minutes.After the time ahs reached then only slowly it got swirched on.I will wait until it get up but CPU will run as always.

For that problem i had asked the person who had assembled the system.He came and saw the defect and detected that a chip which is used inside monitor has got melted because of climate conditions.I suddenly got nervous and then spent about 2000INR for changing the chip.The chip will contain similar action as that of the chip used in Television systems but the difference is that the chip in monitor will have both horizontal and vertical connections.So that it affected the start of the monitor whe current passes.When the monitor is switched on the chip got heated up to an extent and then slowly getting on.If i switch off the monitor or the current supply has been stopped,i have to wait again for some time to start the monitor.

But nowadays so many developments have came in the field of computer monitors leading to the discovery of LCD monitors.So those who are having CRT monitors ,please check with your computer assembler whether your monitor is in good condition or not.
