Plymouth Grand Voyager Se 1998 By flyers5 on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

We bought a 1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE 6 years ago. It was used and had about 68,000 miles on it when we purchased it. The van now has about 172,000 miles and is completely junk. The transmission started going out a year ago. Then, about 3 months ago the starter started to go out. Plus, the autinator belt would keep coming off whenever we went through water. The van stranded us on a major highway because the belt came off. I know that the van is 10 years old, but I do not think that it should be complete junk. We took care of it and it was regularly maintained. Our mechanic told us that the transmission was not built right and that is why it did not last. I do not recommend buying a Plymouth Grand Voyager new or used. The resale value is low and it will be prone to problems if you plan on putting a lot of miles on it.

I have ridden in these vans but never owned one. I was not real impressed with it. Thanks for sharing the honest information.
