Pokemon: Mewtwo Returns Dvd By PC200X on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Pokemon: Mewtwo Returns is actually an hour-long TV special released as a special movie. This "movie" continues the story of the mighty Pokemon clone Mewtwo as he and his fellow clones struggle to live in peace. Easier said than done, as the evil force behind Mewtwo's creation, Giovanni, is on the lookout for him, so that he can harness his power and take over the world. Luckily, Ash and his friends are nearby, and they'll do whatever it takes to help Mewtwo finally live in peace.

You can tell dubbing company 4Kids weren't out for much more than a quick buck with this release. We get the hour-long movie...and little else. One special feature is the opening to the fourth Pokemon season Johto League Champions, something you could just as easily see by popping in a DVD or watching it on TV. Oh, but there's also the Uncut Story of Mewtwo's Origin...something you could just as easily see by watching the first movie's DVD. Yes, there's precious little to make this DVD worth owning aside from the main feature itself, and it's not particularly good either. All in all, I'd only recommend this release to hardcore Mewtwo fans or Pokemon DVD completists.
