I am a runner and I find the only brand of heart rate monitors to use is the Polar.
I bought my first Polar about ten years ago and have been hooked ever since. I love the new S120. It is easy to read and easy to use. It is a great inexpensive heart rate monitor for the beginner. This heart rate monitor comes with a strap that can often be used without the watch to measure your heart rate on equiptment that is has a heart rate monitoring function. I like this because you can read your heartrate on the machine and you do not need to keep looking down at a watch.
I like the watch component when I am going out on runs around the neighborhood. I can still check my progress which truly does enhance the workout.
