Pooch Prison

I recently received a chainlink kennel for my backyard. I've always wanted a dog run that I could toss the dogs into if we were entertaining in the backyard.

The kennel is 10 feet by 10 feet square, with a full size door on one panel.The chainlinking isn't the heaviest available, but my dogs usually aren't ones for destruction. Unfortunately, the door panel was constructed without the chainlink being secured to the piping, so my dogs were able to push their way out after an hour or so. So, after just one use, we have had to repair the bottom of the door panel, but, that was to be expected with two large dogs and only medium weight chainlink!

Overall, I really like the kennel. It was easy for just one person to put up in a matter of about 2 hours. It's the perfect weight for smaller dogs or dogs that aren't escape artists. Since I have Akitas, we'll probably run an electric wire around the bottom of the kennel, which should teach them to leave the chainlink alone.

I think it's a great thing to have, and I wish we had gotten one sooner. Now we can enjoy the backyard and eat, without the dogs lurking around for food!
