Reviewing: Carol Higgins Clark Popped

I have read a number of the Regan Reilly Mysteries by Carol Higgins Clark, and for the most part I rather enjoyed them. But the last few books I have read in this series have left me disappointed.

Popped is one of these books.Regan Reilly, private investigator, is off to Las Vegas to help a friend, Danny, who is competing in a contest and having some problems.Danny is producing a reality show that is in direct competition with a sitcom, and only one of these shows will actually be aired. But things are going wrong and Danny needs Regan's help in finding out what is happening and why.

This story has a weak plot, and the characters aren't much better.Regan herself has her moments when she seems a little inept and is more or less along for the ride, rather than actually helping solve a mystery.I did not enjoy this book the way I had hoped I would and was glad to finish it.

If you are looking for very light reading and a plot that really is not all that interesting, you might enjoy this book.I myself think I will go back to reading the novels of Mary Higgins Clark, Carol's mother.I really enjoy those mysteries much more.
