Portfolio Contemporary Chandelier: Poor Quality By Alexsandralyn on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The photo of the Portfolio 5-Light Bronze Contemporary Chandelier looks a lot better than my dining room chandelier actually does. The bronze paint job looks like a paint job and not like the metal. The ribbed frosted glass looks nice, but it can be hard to clean because of all of the dust-collecting grooves. The most annoying thing about the Portfolio 5 Light Bronze Contemporary Chandelier is the bronze rims at the base of the frosted glass; they don't fit right. If I bump into the chandelier, it's guaranteed that I'll have a lopsided rim on one of the five lights. The 5 light bulbs of the Portfolio Contemporary Chandelier put out a lot of light but are noticeably hot over my dining room table, which didn't bother me too much over the winter but it was very uncomfortable over the summer. At $40, the Portfolio 5-Light Contemporary Chandelier is the least expensive five light chandelier that Lowe's offers, but this is a case where you get what you pay for. If you can afford it, then I would recommend buying a higher quality chandelier.
