Postnatal Yoga With Shiva Rea By jayjay1113 on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

I gained so much weight with my last pregnancy and it was hard to get back into a rigorous exercise routine due to the c-section I had. So, once I got the okay from my doctor to begin working out again, I decided to start off slow with yoga than jumping right into aerobics and cardio. I found this Postnatal Yoga video which seemed to fit the bill.

I love the slow steady pace of the yoga routines. They were easy to do even while still recovering from a c-section. Each workout relieved the stress felt by my body from the lack of sleep and demands from breast feedign and caring for a newborn. I love the fact that the workouts had different levels that worked with your limitations. Choose to follow the person that is at your level for a great workout.

There are three workouts in one. The first you centers your awareness and helps to rebuild pelvic muscles and abs. The second strengthens abs and lower back, opens the hips and stabilizes the spine. The third maintains balance and help to create power in the legs and lower body. It takes about 40 - 60 minutes to go through the entire tape.

I feel that Postnatal Yoga really helped to kick start my 40 lb weight loss (and still counting!) until I could do aerobic and cardio again after having my son.
