Powder On Dvd By Tifffany By Tifffany on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Powder stars Sean Patrick Flanery as the albino title character. One day, he is discovered living in a basement and sent off to school. Not only does Powder have an amazing ability to read and retain things quickly, he also has some other extraordinary abilities centered around electricity. One of his teachers (Jeff Goldblum) takes interest in him because of this and he is studied. Basically, Powder is a movie about someone who is different than the norm and how they are treated by society. It is sort of like Edward Scissorhands in that an abnormal person who previously lived in seclusion was one day brought into society to be integrated. While this was not a big hit or a movie that people remember that much, I thought it was pretty good. It can be slow at times, but it is also quite emotional and endearing. I really like Sean Patrick Flanery and he did a good job acting the part, as did Jeff Goldblum. I think this movie is safe for kids to watch, but they may not necessarily like it. Like I said, the plot can be sort of slow and it also takes more of an adult mind to understand and appreciate. They might like to watch some of Powder's special abilities tho. I enjoyed this movie and watch it from time to time.
