Precor Efx 5.21i Elliptical Trainer By Lorianna on - Updated Sep 18, 2011
I got to try this elliptical trainer at a gym, although it is designed for home use, as I was told. Precor EFX 5.21i has 6 pre-programmed workouts to choose from, where the machine will change speed and resistance for you as you exercise. You can also do that manually. There are 20 resistance levels, so if you are a beginner you can start at the easiest one and then work your way up. You can also change the incline: the higher you set it, the harder it is to exercise and the better workout you get.
As you exercise, you can watch your progress on the monitor: your speed, step count, heart rate, how many calories you have burned, etc. Resistance and incline level will be shown on the monitor as well.
Precor EFX 5.21i is quiet, I can easily see how someone would place it in their living room, in front of a TV set without worrying about the machine being too loud. It runs very smoothly, without those mechanical jerks I have experienced with some other machines. One thing I do not like about this elliptical trainer though is that it does not have arm levers. With those, you can exercise your upper body as well, not just legs, thighs & abs.

Always wondered what this was. Thanks for the picture I am now getting the idea. As you can tell I don't exercise enough! Thanks
I think the arm bars would be more beneficial to a workout. I have one that uses the arm bars and it definitely gives your upper body a workout as well as the lower body. Great that it's quiet, I'd be using it in the living room while watching television.
I agree., I would think if one were going to invest in one of these one would want one that gives a total workout.
Probably the best cardio that anyone can do. Great on the joints!!
I'm shopping for an elliptical and appreciate the info. Thanks!
