Prell shampoo is not your old ordinary shampoo and it is not used for the old ordinary purpose. I bought Prell shampoo for a purpose. The purpose was to get the color out of my hair. I was going to a wedding and I colored my hair. Boy, was it dark, boy was I unhappy. I called my sister in law and asked her if she had any suggestions on how to tone down my hair. She said yes. She said that she has used Prell Shampoo in the past just for this reason. She said that it is a very abrasive shampoo and that this would help tone it down. So I tried it and yes it did help tone it down. It is supposed to strip the color out. Well, another reason that I used this shampoo is for my youngest daughter. Her hair is very, very long and thick. It is also very, very hard to comb. Well, I was having trouble getting a comb through it due to it's regular hard to comb standards and also due to the fact that we have been in chlorine and the beach for the past few weeks. I got an idea to try Prell and guess what, it worked wonders. I think that it's harshness got everythign out of her hair and therefore it was easy to comb through with a little conditioner. I don't recommend uisng it everyday but I do for certain circumstances.
