Prescriptives Concealer
By mustangsally82 onI have an endocrine disorder that causes an overproduction of androgens. One of the lovely side-effects is acne, even though Im 26 years old. I never outgrew my teen acne, and in fact my skin has been worse in my 20s than it was in my teens.
I have tried many different concealers and nothing has ever measured up. I usually end up looking worse than I did when I started because many liquids dont blend in well or they are just too dark a shade for my very fair skin. Along with the acne comes oily skin, so even very expensive foundation and powders often dont last for more than a few hours without getting shiny and runny.
I gave up on concealers for a period of about three years because an oil-fighting foundation gave me the most even-looking complexion and slightly covered up some of my acne scars and newer outbreaks.
In 2005 I had an important interview coming up, and I decided to go to the Prescriptives makeup counter at the mall. I spent several hours there while the nice lady tried out different colors and products on my face.
When she was done I couldnt believe what I saw in the mirror. My skin had never looked so even and natural, and much more blemish-free!It was a huge improvement over the myriad of products Id tried in the past that had never worked and always left me looking overly made-up. This makeup looked so natural, and I have had so many people over the years be honestly surprised to know that I wear makeup. That is the highest compliment of all.
That day I came home with a foundation, a blush and a powder. Im not really a makeup kind of girl so that was enough for me. I tried Prescriptives liquid concealer but it was just too dark and goopy and didnt blend well either alone or under my foundation.
Back in January of this year I got an email about a sale at prescriptives.com. They hardly ever have sales so I jumped on it. I was looking at their new products, and I saw this concealer. It came in six shades (now its up to 12 different shades) so I was skeptical, but I got a good price so I added it to my cart along with the foundation I was buying.
It came and I braced myself for yet another disappointment. Instead, I was amazed. The shade was almost too light for me, which is extremely rare. I used my fingertip to blend it in and I was shocked by how well it covered my scars and blemishes. For lighter imperfections it didnt take much, but for the darker or larger ones all I had to do was put on a few layers, and they were almost invisible. It works great under your eyes, too.
It blends in very well, and doesnt make my skin any oilier. I truly cant believe how such a lightweight concealer can cover so well.
This concealer comes in a compact about the size of a silver dollar. You can apply it with your finger or a brush. It is oil-free and contains SPF 25. If you aren't happy with your current concealer, give it a try! My makeup is finally complete with the addition of this wonderful product.

I've tried a few Prescriptives products and have been happy with them. I haven't tried this one though and it sounds great. Will check it out for sure.
Prescriptives really does have great concealers! Now they have a concealer in a pen that I really want to try!
I have never heard of this brand. Thanks for sharing.
Sounds like a really good product, thanks for the info!
