The First Years Close & Secure Sleeper sounded like a good idea when we where shopping for our new baby. It's basically a small rectangle bed with hard sides that lies on the parents' bed. This way, the parents will not roll onto the baby at night and suffocate him/her. We thought it would be a wonderful thing to have, in fact, a must have. So we bought it and put our baby in it the first night he was home. It didn't work out so well. My husband is bigger and heavier than me, so the baby's bed tilted towards him. Our baby would slowly slide toward the wall against my husband. After a couple of hours, I'd wake up to find our baby's face pressed against the wall of his bed. That scared me so we stopped using it. Though, we still use the nightlight that comes with it! Anyways, the thought never entered our head that the baby bed would not lay flat if one parent is heavier than the other. I still think it's a good product, just maybe not for everyone.
