Prius 2008 By Bronte30 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I lived in Southern California for almost ten years and there seemed to be more and more Prius' on the road each year. It's a state where you have to drive for almost everything, and with the Prius, single commuters were able to take the carpool lane, which made the difference between getting to work on time, or if lucky, getting there by lunch time. Well I don't live there anymore, but any reason is a good reason to own a Prius. They look cool, and I know it's cute, but sleek appearance reflects my personality. I wanted a stand out car with outstanding performance and the Prius certainly delivers. The little gear shift makes me laugh every time I shift into reverse, speaking of which, the camera keeps me from running into sidewalk daredevils. The simple power button (no more digging into cavernous handbags for keys) is also a welcome feature. The wide dash includes a digital display of your trip, fuel tank and overall diagnostics. The really fun part is the in-dash display that shows you your average fuel consumption with a bar chart and cute little green (wink, wink) cars. There is also an animation of how the battery and the motor are working to make the car go. The best part of course is the excellent fuel economy that comes with driving the car. Icing on the cake! Overall, it's a win-win situation and I try to tell as many people as possible how fun (not to mention how very Al Gore) it is to drive a Prius. Plus, it goes with all of my shoes!

Wonderful information. It's a great incentive to have a hybrid if you get to use the fast lane. I live in a fairly rural area so I wouldn't get this perk. What is the gas mileage?
I saw this car when it first came out and fell in love with it. Now I really want one. Thanks for the information.
Nice environmental car. This is a cute car too! Good information.
Yes-it is very "Al Gore" of you to have this-I love that!
Well, ya had me til ya mentioned Al Gore! No, really, I want a Prius even though I'm not a Gore fan.
Thanks for the funny review on this car.
