Reviewing: Proactiv Basic 3 Step Kit With Refining Mask
Purchased at: Proactiv.Com     Price: $39.95 USD

I ordered this product hoping to help with my acne problem. I recived the starter kit with the refining mask. I followed the recommended usage instructions for about a month. My breakouts drammatically decreased. The only thing that bothered me was that I had notice and increase in dry skin. I felt like I had taken sandpaper to my forehead and rubbed over it several times.

To test this, I decreased my usage ranging from once a day to every other day. I noticed that my skin was no longer flaking off. As for my breakouts, I use the refining mask as a spot treatment before I go to bed. In the morning the redness is gone, and within two days the breakout ceases.

The product works well, I just wish you could purchase the refining mask alone from Proactiv. That mask is a lifesaver for me when I'm under a time crunch to look presentable. I'm sure I am not alone in this matter: No one likes to have that feeling that everyone is staring at the large pimple on the center of their face. I think if you have oily skin, the 3-step kit is for you. If you have combination to normal or dry skin, I would recommend a using a great facial moisturizer along with this product.

Overall great results at first, then the only item really needed is the refining mask.

I had the system and didn't use it much...I think you can buy the mask alone on ebay or at the Proactiv booth at my local mall...

Our malls are very scarce with kiosks. That's what happens when you live in a small town. Thanks for the e-bay idea though.

Yes, you can purchase the products separately. Local mall kiosks are a good source! ;-)

Living in a small town presents a lack of variety for kiosks. The closest mall that has a Proactiv kiosk only sells the three step kit. It doesn't sell the mask. :-( Thanks for the idea though.

We have considered getting this for my daughter but because of the price were hesitant because we did not know if it actually worked. Thank you for the information, I guess we should go ahead and get it.

My husband swears by Proactiv. It's the only thing he'll use on his face. I've used it some too and it really does work. I'm just too lazy to do all the steps :-)

I used ProActiv for about 2 years and it worked wonders. Then all of a sudden about 3 months ago now it just stopped working and my face rebeled. I'm currently trying other products. I'm disappointed in ProActiv...but I guess my face just got immune to it or something. Glad it helps you out though.

I have dry skin and tried using this product and it burnt my face. My face looked like I had a bad rug burn. I called the company and they told me to use it every other day but my skin was so sore and got so dry that I had to stop using it. I have heard of others who absolutely love it.

Good to know the refining mask is the one that does the job. I've wondered how well this works, sounds like it does if you can tailor it to your skin's needs.
