By Tina Lehman onI have been a Progressive customer for about five years and am very pleased with their service.When I first switched to Progressive, I was impressed that I could save more than $500 per year over what my previous auto insurance had cost me.
Progressive offers a lot of discounts for things including: multiple policies, home insurance, and loyal customer.We also have a reduced rate because of where we live (in the country) and because I have a PhD. Having an advanced degree discount surprised me, so you have to make sure to ask for all the discounts you may qualify for.
As far as their claims service goes, it is very impressive.Two years ago my husband hit a deer and did quite a bit of damage to the front of his truck.We made a call to Progressive and within hours there was a claims agent in our driveway with a check to cover the damaged.Better yet, our rates did not increase because we were considered 'safe drivers.'
Progressive offers a billing option that can save you additional money if you pay your premium in full every six months (vs. the montly option) and an even bigger discount if you sign up for electronic funds transfer.
Although we do not have a pet, I have heard that Progressive also offers pet insurance to cover expenses dealing with the injury of a pet in the car during an accident.
Overall, I would highly recommend calling Progressive for a quote.Chances are they can save you quite a bit of money, and they are a good company to work with.
Cool! I am impressed that they consider your degree worth giving you extra discounts. I never heard of a company giving a discount for a pet. I think that's fantastic too. Too bad about the deer and your truck. It's always hard when you live in the country or near parks to drive at night because you are always looking out for them. Glad they were able to help you quickly when this accident occured and not increase your rates. Great company. I should check them out!

Progressive covered your husbands car when he hit a deer? That is impressive! A friend of mine hit a moose in Maine a few years ago and although she had full insurance hitting a moose was not covered! I am not sure if it is just because of where she lived or if that was just a normal thing.
With four drivers and four cars in our family now, we are just starting to consider other car insurance options. I will be giving Progressive a call to see if they can bring our rates down! Thank you for sharing!
I'm not familiar with Progressive Insurance, but sounds like it's a great insurance company. It's always nice to qualify for additional discounts with a company. Thanks for the information.

I've seen the commercials for Progressive. I'm glad they are as good as they advertise!
I always hear how much money you can save by using Progressive-this may be worth looking into!
We have been with progressive for about seven years now. When we first switched over to them, their rates were really good and we were pleased with them. In the last two years though, they have upped our prices without warning three times. We've not switched insurance yet but it is aggrevating!
Good to know that Progressive lives up to their advertised claims.
