I just purchased a new mini van and I wanted to do some comparison shopping for my insurance. I love the fact that I can do this online at my convenience without feeling pressured. I went online and entered some basic information to get started.

I simply entered the vehicle year, model, and driver's information. If you want you can enter your social security number but it isn't required to get a quote. I chose not to do that. I finished answering all the questions and within 6 minutes I had quotes from 4 different companies, including my current insurance company. They have different coverage categories that I could choose from. A Basic, Economy, Suggested and a Custom category all with charges broken down for each item covered. If you sign up online you will be eligible for a $50 discount on the six month advance payment that is quoted! How cool is that?!
