Project Gotham Racing 4 (PGR4) is actually the fifth racing game done by Bizarre Creations, and of course the fourth installment of this series originating on the Xbox. Needless to say, the series has come a very long way, visually and gameplay-wise. The graphics are currently, in my opinion, above all else in many different genres. Rain will bead off your car during a storm, track and environment detail is photo-realistic, and the car detail is immaculate. The sound is great, as well. The soundtrack is over 90 songs long, with many genres of music to suit any driver. Either way, custom soundtracks are here as well, so you can listen to your own stuff, too. The gameplay in this iteration is just as good as it's always been, balancing speed, style, and racing. You receive points for executing controlled maneuvers- such as drifts, good corners, and passing other racers. These points enable you to progress and unlock other cars. Online play is solid, as well. You and a bunch of other drivers can race on the streets of Shanghai, Las Vegas, New York, and many other cities! Overall, PGR4 at this price is a must-buy. Not only does it show off the capabilities of the Xbox 360, it's an impeccable racing game that should be in every fan's library.
