Prostar Ar 454 A Review By lordofdarkness66 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Where I stay, TV signals are horrible. I dont subscribe to satellite TV and the outdoor antenna on the roof just isn't adequate to receive signals. Therefore I had to resort to buying an internal antenna. It was just my luck that this particular model was on cheap sale that day. At $9, the antenna looks extremely sophisticated and sleek. It can recieve UHF and VHF TV signals as well as FM radio signals. It has a tuner in front so that the signals can be tuned to optimum reception. The aerial also acts as a booster for an external aerial. The aerial can work on standard 240 Volts AC or a 12 Volts 100mA DC source. This aerial is extremely durable having been dropped so many times but still working properly and not even a scratch to it's body. The signals are extremely clear with no distruption on rainy days. There is one serious problem though with this aerial. If you touch the metallic parts of this aerial (the antennae to be exact) with a test pen, it lights up. This shows that a relatively high amount of current is flowing through it. Even though it only causes a slight jolt when touched with the fingers, it still is dangerous. The replacement unit that I got from the place I bought it has the same problem. The manufacturers should correct this problem in this otherwise very good indoor aerial.
