Protect A Bed Premium Mattress Protector By Jan Mayrhofer on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

When we had to place my husband's dad in a home for Alzheimer's patients, we had to buy him his own bed. Of course, since he worked hard all his life, we wanted him to have a high quality bed that he would rest easy in. We went to Sleep Country where a person can always find a great bed. It wasn't cheap, but it is so nice. The mattress, especially, was expensive and very high quality. That is why we were willing to spend so much money on a mattress protector for it. Actually, we had to buy two of them so that while one is being laundered, the other can be protecting our investment.

At Sleep Country, they demonstrated to us just how waterproof this mattress protector is by spilling a glass of water on it. Not a drop penetrated! That's not all, though. Because of the barrier, dust mites are not an issue, either.

This mattress protector is made of breathable cotton toweling, yet is lightweight. It fits just like a fitted sheet and is completely washable and dryable, making it perfect for our needs.

The Protect-A-Bed mattress protector is the perfect choice for asthma sufferers, too, as it acts as a barrier to dust.

This was expensive, to be sure, but we felt it was worth it to protect that expensive mattress we bought for Dad. We have since bought one for our son, also, who is sensitive to dust.
