Protect those shins with shin guards!
By Mom2One onMy son has just started playing soccer again. This year we decided to get him some soccer socks and shin guards in one. We ended up buying the Adidas MLS brand.
Overall they seem to do the job.
The socks reach up to his upper calf. The sock is made of nylon and there is a pocket inside the sock for the shin guard. The shin guard can be taken out so you can wash the sock.
For the most part I like these shin guards. They do the job as far as protecting my son's shins from the soccer ball but there are a few things I do not really care for.
First my son needs help pulling these socks off after a game. Between the sweating feet and the bulkiness of the shin guard it can be a challenge taking these off.
Second putting the shin guard back in the pocket after you wash the sock can be a challenge. It does not always want to go in easily.
Except for those two issues this soccer sock is good and I would recommend it.

My daughter has played soccer since she's been 5. She'll be 20 next month and now plays on her college team. Good shin guards are SO essential! I'm glad you like these but keep shopping around until you find the PERFECT pair! They make ALL the difference! Thanks for sharing!!!
Sounds like it does the job though. Thanks for the information.
Kids love soccer! When they participate in sports, it's important to buy good quality protective gear. It sounds like the Adidas socks and shin guards are protecting your son's shins. Perhaps you can find some later, that are easier to use.
I think you got a great price on these shin guards! When Vi wanted to play soccer, or at least wanted 'soccer socks' just the knee highs alone were $11.99!
This is an important piece of equipment to protect the children. But I think there is a design flaw that makes it too hard to remove or replace the guard. Hope they fix that for you so there is no struggling!
It's too bed that they are hard to get off. I suppose as Mom you don't mind doing the dirty work, but still....
My husband is already talking about getting our girls into soccer. I like the price on these, so I will keep them in mind. My husband can deal with taking them off.
I'll bet that the guard stay in place this way, though!
What a great price on these!! Despite the two inconveniences, they sound like a wonderful pair of guards that do protect!
