Pumpkin Carving Time!

OK, I jumped on the band wagon with making Halloween decorations using the fake carvable foam pumpkins.I have seen these in craft stores for several years and never really got the urge to do anything with them.
My daughter and I saw an ad for several different characters in our local Michael's Craft Store ad, but we found many more available on line at their website.We waited until the pumpkins were 1/2 off and then bought them.
I can't believe how easy these pumpkins were to work with.We made two that had to be painted and accessorized, a little carving for holes and being crafty by going outside the box and making it your own piece.
We made "Batty for You" and "Candy Corn Treat", each as cute as could be.We did change from using the styrofoam feet which were much too flimsy and used large wooden balls painted like shoes to keep these guys upright in their doweled legs.
Michael's rated these a 1 or 2 out of 5 for ease of making them.I'm a perfectionist so I probably made it come out like a 4 out of 5 as I added my own touches.These carvable pumpkins were a breeze to work with and I will be making up more "characters" soon.

I love these carvable foam pumpkins. Every year I say I am going to carve them instead of real pumpkins and then never do it. I love how you've done them though, I've never seen that, very crafty.
I've never seen these. Where have I been? I might look for these when the holiday gets closer. Thanks for sharing your pictures. Those are cute! Teens like to steal the real carved pumpkins around here and smash them on the streets. This could be a solution to that issue.
