Purina Beggin' Strips Bacon Flavor

I got a 3 oz pack of Purina Beggin' Strips Bacon Flavor in the mail free from Sam's Club. I was shocked at the size of the sample since usually freebies are so much smaller! This was really generous and my dog, Frankie, was really thankful!

Beggin' Strips smell a lot like smoky bacon. They are dark red with stripes and resemble bacon.

The first day I got the pack I gave Frankie a treat. I expected him to act like the dog in the Beggin' Strips commercial. In the commercial, there is a dog. The moment he knows a Beggin' Strip might be coming his way he acts very excited! Frankie didn't act that way at all. In fact, I gave him the strip and he left it on the floor. I was so disappointed, but I figured, "Whatever, it was free." I found that later, he did eat the strip.

I gave it another shot this morning and fed him half of a Beggin' Strip. They are easy to break in pieces. Frankie is a mini dachshund and I figured maybe 1/2 a Beggin' Strip would be easier for his little mouth to eat. Right when I opened the bag, Frankie was right there at my feet with his ears perked up. I was surprised since he acted so unenthusiastic yesterday. He ate it right away and seemed more energetic for some reason right afterward. He was running all over the place.
