Pyrex Pie Plates By ohthethinksyouwillthink on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Last weekend was Canadian Thanksgiving and my first year hosting dinner, which meant new kitchen gadgets for me! Along with a meat thermometer and a good carving knife, pie plates were on my shopping list. So off to Zellers I went.

I choose these Pyrex 9" pie plates in glass instead of metal. I prefer glass for my cookware as much as possible, because it is microwave safe if I ever need to re-heat something.

These plates are great! They are sturdy, and heat evenly. Being glass, they are also very functional. They are oven, microwave, freezer, and dishwasher safe. They are also attractive, and easly match and blend in to any colourscheme, so they look great on the table when it comes time to serve dessert. I like the idea of having one dish that I can use to bake, freeze, reheat, and serve, without needing to worry about safety or presentation.

This plates were a hit! The pies turned out great. The plates washed up easily, and are now tucked into my cupboard ready and waiting for the next special occasion. I highly recommend Pyrex for pie plates!
