I bought this processor after updating my motherboard. Bought it from Dell business which had an offer on at the time.
This processor is extremely fast, it will do anything you want it to without breaking a sweat. Runs cool at 29C 84F. (on my system.)
I had it overclocked for a while running at 4.01Ghz air cooled, temps rose to 41C 105F easily with recommended temps..I do have a well cooled system though.
There is nothing out there game wise that will even get close to taking the pc to anywhere near its limits.
While still a little pricey I would recommend this processor to anyone to future proof their Pc. Prices will slowly drop now the I7 processor is out..but that processor is out of most peoples ranges for now due to its price.

Your very welcome, Its certainly not fun searching through the sea of motherboards out there. I used a page like the following to help me decide..I made a list of what I wanted on the new board..and what I didnt really need..then went to a site like these..http://www.motherboards.org/mobot/ http://www.interloper.com/mbsearch.php - they gave me a few choices of boards which I then researched..I made my decision on which board matched what I wanted..then searched for the best price I could find and ordered it.
If I ever get into PC gaming I'll consider this!
After being a Sims addict for many, many years, a fast processor is a necessity. :)
