Quick Way To Peel Apples! By bnbscully on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Are you in the kitchen a lot? Especially around the holidays with baking? Well, my family loves pies but peeling, coring and slicing the apples for apple pies can take way too much time. I heard about this Apple Peeler gadget about three years ago from a friend and went on a hunt to find it. At that time it was a hard find but, I found mine at William Sonoma, but just about every kitchen store has them now.
When I took it out of the box I thought it was a complex unit but the directions were helpful. It is made of cast iron base parts, a steel arm piece that turns your apple and a cute wood handle. It has a sharp cutter unit which can be lowered to just core an apple while leaving the peel on! It has a suction bottom that sticks right to your counter top for a firm grip. I found it took awhile for me to figure out how to center the apple for precise coring, but I have the hang of it now. It does a wonderful job of cutting time!! You can use for potatoes too! I would not recommend putting in the dishwasher, a good rinse in the sink does well.
This product has proven to be another "kitchen must have"! My family loves my apple pies and I love knowing I didn't spend all day making them!

My dad has one of these, and they are fantastic! Definitely worth it if you bake or eat a lot of apples.
This is a great tool. Tiny little apples (two paper grocery bags full) became a dozen apple pies for the holidays with very little effort.
beats having my son as the apple peeler, he would love me to buy it.
The kids like this, because they don't like the peel.
