For work I drive a lot miles. Most of them on the Highway, with traffic going to fast is not normally an option. The problem is when there is no traffic it is even more tempting to enjoy a lttle open road. Enter the police and radar guns. To combat it the Whistler excels. It has great range of detection. It virtualy sees up hill and around curves. The idea with a radar detector is to detect various bands of radar which the police use first off. The whistler detects all currently used bands for speed detection. Secondly you have to know radar is on use before they know how fast your going. In this category the whistler reaches out well in advance of active radar allowing you to slow down before you can be clocked by the radar. It is a solid reliable devise with easy mounting and good construction. I paid about $150 for it retail is 190 but I have seen lots of internet deals so shop a around. Oh, and happy driving!

Great information you have here. Our radar detector is a life saver! Don't know what we would do without that thing.
A friend of mine used to have a radar detector and it would scare me to death every time it went off. I don't think it is a great idea for me to have lol. But I completely understand why some need it. Good information on this one. It sounds like a good choice for those who may be looking for one.
Now that I've been caught, I either 1: need to slow down, or 2: get me one of these!

I'd invest in one too if I did that much driving. Of course, I drive a lot slower than I used to now that I have kids in the car.
