Radio Control Havoc Stinger
By Jeanette Dusci onThis radio control helicopter was a recent purchase for our daughter. It looks like a bee/helicopter, with glowing eyes, hence the name "Stinger". It really is a lot of fun. It has a four way remote control and it really buzzes around quickly. The remote doubles as the power charger and takes six AA batteries which are not included. The helicopter only runs for about ten to fifteen minutes before you need to recharge it. By then the kids have usually had enough of it anyway. Two of our kids had received similar helicopters for Christmas. However, Santa went with a really cheaply made one that promptly broke. The Stinger has held up pretty well so far. The only problem we've had was the propeller got some of my daughters hair in it. (Yes, her sister flew it into her head, but it didn't hurt). After I pulled the hair off, it went back to working just fine. The kids like to fly it down in the basement which is essentially a toy room. I don't let them fly it where it could run into anything valuable,as they are definately still learning to control it. It can be flown outdoors too if weather is mild enough.

I love mine wish it flew longer on a charge.
My son has been asking for one of these but I am just afraid of the damage he might do with it. I am glad to hear your daughter was not hurt when it hit her. I just see this flying all over the house like a bad scene in a sitcom knocking over everything in it's path.
Yeah, dsnygrl, I hear you. This was my husband's doing. I had the same fears. My kids are 10 and 12 that use it. I wouldn't let my 4 year old use it and like I said, only in the big open basement are the allowed to use it!
I've been wanting to get one of these for quite some time now. Thanks for the information.
10 - 15 minutes and then it needs to be recharged? Wow...how long does it take to recharge? That doesn't seem like alot of play time. For $30 you think you'd get more time flying and less time charging. And flying into the hair? Ouch! Hope your kids get to enjoy this outdoors soon!
This sounds like a really fun toy which my little grandson would probably love. It seems easy enough to use but ones does have to look out for hair getting caught up in the propellors! Nice job!
So did I love. My boys are death on these choppers, no matter how well they are made. The Stinger was their first chopper and they loved it, though they whined constantly about the super short battery charge.
My son love the flying remote control toys. He still likes them even at 26. I think boys never really grow up. This does sound like a good one. thanks for sharing the information.
Sounds like fun and maybe not so military themed, so some parents who don't like that could still feel ok about purchasing. Thanks for the good examples of real life use!
Sounds like loads of fun:0) We have the Havoc with the lasers that shoot each other. Personally I don't see the fun, but all the boys in the family (all three generations) love 'em.
