I bought Radio Shack's MIDI keyboard for my young daughter to practice on and she loves it!
The MIDI has 50 different tones, 30 rhythms, and 50 songs. It also has 5 percussion buttons and labeled keys.
There's an LCD screen which hosts an information system that can be used to teach fingering. The 50 songs that are built into the keyboard can also be taught through this information system which will show the correct keys lit up on the LCD screen.
Start/Stop, volume, and tempo buttons are clearly marked along side the chord, learning, and demo settings.
You can use an adaptor, which is not included, or 6 "C" sized batteries for power.
There's also a record button and many other helpful settings.

This is a good way to start the children learning a keyboard. It's much more fun taking lessons on this than a piano. I think making it fun and adding some extra beats is such a great feature.
I've had two Radio Shack keyboards that are incredibly similar to the brand Casio. Both have been absolutely wonderful.
