This is the movie that started the legend. Indiana Jones usually gets put in the back seat when compared to other trilogies like Star Wars and such, but I think it deserves to be right up front as well. Its hard to get a better action movie, and reluctant hero, than Indiana Jones. This movie sets him up against a rival from the very beginning, starting in South America and going all the way to Egypt. I think that any movie that can make archeology seem like the coolest thing on Earth is doing something right. This movie came out in 1981, and you can tell the film quality isn't as great as most newer movie, but I think that adds to its charm. As Indy travels through exotic locations, foiling the Nazis, discovering historical treasures, and of course winning the girl, you realize just how great these adventure movies really are.
