Rainbow Vacuum By Jan Mayrhofer on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
We bought our Rainbow Vacuum at least ten years ago! And it was expensive!! BUT, it is still going strong and I still love it.
Rainbow vacuums are unique. Instead of a bag, a basin of water is where the dirt is caught. When you are done vacuuming, you dump the water and (ugh!) all the gunk you vacuumed up, clean the basin and you are ready for next time. Please don't EVER forget to empty the water/gunk or you will be sorry! Stinky!
So you see, the Rainbow Vacuum might not be for everyone because of the upkeep after each use, but I think the benefits make it worth it. There is no dust released every time you vacuum. And you never have a breeding ground for mites sitting in your closet!
If you want to, you can add fragrance to the water to freshen as you clean.
The vacuum is canister style and fits into a frame with wheels for easy navigation. The floor tool has a rotating brush and does a good job.
We did pay a lot for this vacuum, but then again, for the last ten years I've vacuumed at least once a week (well, usually) and I've never had to worry about replacing or repairing my Rainbow.
I forgot to mention that the first time I saw a Rainbow vacuum demonstrated, I was just a kid. This means that the Rainbow
Company has been around for a good, long time!
Rainbow Vacuum Purchased at: Door to Door Salesman Price: $1000.00!

My sil purchased one very similar to this and she paid $3000 so they've gone up in price but they are awesome vacuums - I particularly love the attachment that works as an air purifier - amazing the effectiveness it has. Glad you got all your spring cleaning accomplished!
