Raw Color Demi Permanent Hair Color Drab At Best By Demon_Buttercup on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I'm an old punk rocker and I still love to look a little 'weird'. One of the ways I express myself is with my hair and was very excited to find Raw Color Demi Permanent Hair Color in a variety of fun colors such as pink, blue, purple, and green. I purchased the Candy Pink, which is a lovely shade of hot magenta pink to use on my bangs and the underside of my hair, but was quite disappointed with the overall results.
The dye comes in a 4 oz plastic squeeze bottle, so application was easy. My hair is a very light bleach blonde and since this dye is supposed to work best on bleached hair, I figured I was in luck. I slathered it on my bangs and the underside of my hair, combed it in as directed and waited. I do have to note that the scent of this product is DELICIOUS! It smells just like cotton candy, not some horrible chemical smell.
I waited 5 minutes longer than the 15 minutes suggested on the bottle just to be sure the color took a good hold and washed my hair. What a disappointment! I had light reddish-orange bangs! Where was the candy pink? Because it certainly wasn't in my hair. I tried a 2nd application a few days later, which helped a little bit, turning my bangs a more burgandy red, but still no pink. Looks like I'm going back to my old brand of odd colored hair dye that I have to order online.

Too bad this was a disappointment! I can picture you in your candy pink hair, my colorful friend :)
Too bad the color wasn't great, but I love that it smelled so good!
Sorry this product didn't work as you had hoped, thanks for informing us about the fact that the color didn't work the way it promised
Sorry this product was horrible. Wish you luck into finding something that does work.
Nice hair dye. I cant believe it smells good. Are you sure there was not a carnival in operation near your house and you caught wiff of the cotton candy? :)
Nothing worse than ending up with some color that isn't what you wanted at all. Yuk!
How disappointing to expect pink and get reddish orange! I also like to try different colors, but I have to kind of hide mine for work and don't think I could get away with pink (dark purple is what I'ved used and some magenta) but I've had it done by a professional stylist. On my own, I'd probably end up with a rainbow wig looking head!
I've been told it's best to strip the color out of your hair before you dye it pink. Thank for the heads up.
well, i also liked the product but was disappointed with the results. after i tried so many other brands this was the only one that stayed. but since it is supposed to fade out, it turned my hair green instead of going back to my regular hair color. do any of you have ideas on how to get the rest of it out without, major chemical treatments?
Raw Colour does have some good colors out there. They just made a new pink called Popsicle Pink that is AMAZING! I love their blues and greens mostly though.
