Re-Inking Kits for Printers
By Gayle Parks onWhen my daughter graduted from High School I thought I would save some money by scanning and then printing her graduation photos. I decided I would try one of those re-inking kits for printers. I bought 2 kits at Wal-Mart for $10.00 each. Not a bad price considering ink cartridges for my printer cost about $40.00 a piece. It was a total waste oftime and money. The instructions were hard to understand and to follow, the process of injecting the ink into the cartridge was extremely messy, the ink leaked from the cartridge after you had injected it,and the colors were muddled and smeary in the printed photos. The quality was so poor I couldn't even use the ink for everyday printing.I was able to return one kit I had not opened but the whole experience wasfrustrating to say the least. I do not recommend purchasing this product. Spend your money for brand new ink cartridges.

Thanks I was thinking of trying this, guess I won't!
Wow, that is a low rating! Sounds like the pricey refills really are worth the money. Sorry to hear you got stuck paying for this item!!
I've always been leery of these for all these reasons you mentioned. Good to know that I was right to be leery!
Another one of those times:"If it sounds too good to be true..."
I don't think I've ever seen such a low ranking for a product on this site! LOL! Sorry it was such a stinker for you... thanks for sharing this info!
I had tried a kit like this before, and it worked for me, however storing the ink was the messy part. I said never again for that reson, even though the print quality was good from the re-inked cartridges.
Absolutely - I have NEVER been able to get any of them to work. Ink is a sore spot with me (I need to add it to my pet peeves list). I think it is a huge ripoff in the printer industry and somebody needs to come up with a way to produce a refill kit that is easy to use. I've given up hope that the printer industry would ever standardize to a universal cartridge (for basic inkjets, I can understand the higher end printers needing diferent qualitys of ink). Blech. I'm sorry you went through that. I've been there to.
I have NEVER heard a good thing about these things. I think it is a good idea in theory but it just doesn't work. I will not be wasting my money on these
I tried these too and could not get them to work. I thought I was doing something wrong. Guess it wasn't me, it was the product.
I have never heard anything good about these either. Thankd for sharing your experience.
