Read With Me Dvd System By MamaFox on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I purchased this toy for my son. He was getting to the age that he wanted to play video games...but I wasn't ready to let him. I purchashed this product as a happy medium. He had quite a bit of fun playing with it...when he could. It is a real pain to get it all set up and ready to play. The system acts as a remote control for your DVD player so it has to be programmed...each DVD player remote function has to be programmed in. This not only has to be done on each TV/DVD player...but, also whenever it decides to just stop working. That coupled with the the fact that the system uses real DVD's made it a real no go in our home. I litteraly had to sit there the whole time my 4/5 year old was plaing to make sure the remote was working correctly and to change DVD's for him. I feel like this product was a waste of money. Great concept...but, it needs more thought in the 'child friendly' and ease of use areas.

We wound up buying Leapsters for all three of our kids and have been much happier with that purchase.
