Reading Glasses from Dollar General

I normally wear contact lenses, but because I have a stigmatism, I have to use reading glasses to see close up while wearing the contacts. I purchased my first pair of reading glasses from my eye doctor.I paid over $80 for a pair of wire rimmed glasses that broke after only a year of use.I decided to try the reading glasses I saw on display at the Dollar General store for $5.
After trying a few on to get the right strength, I couldn't tell the difference between them and the glasses I had purchased from my eye doctor.They have also lasted longer than the ones I paid $80 for!There were many different styles to choose from, so I didn't have any trouble picking a pair I liked.
Do yourself a favor and don't ever buy reading glasses from an eye doctor.I know I never will again, they are a waste of money!

Had I know I could get glasses from the dollar general, I could have saved a ton of money and not on my car insurance. I will have to look for these the next time I am in DG. I always leave my real glasses at home but it would be nice to have a cheap pair on the car.
Well, everyone else has already said it, but this is my wonderful solution too. I have a small head and a broad nose and have to hunt around to find some that fit, but when I do I buy them! I now have a pair upstairs, downstairs, in my briefcase and one on my head!
My poor husband paid $999.99 for 4 pairs of glasses at Walmart. Within a very few months, 3 pairs broke. We ended up buying glasses at our local pharmacy from a rack, which work every bit as well, for 1/10th the cost.
I think that there are a lot of added costs that go into the price of a pair of glasses that are sold in the opticians office. Kudos on finding a great pair of reading glasses at an awesome price! Thank you for sharing.

I never really thought about doing this but I'm all about saving money!! I will have to check into this!!!!
I have broken so many pairs I never buy expensive ones and I find low cost ones just as effective.
